Inspiration from nature leads to ideas and sketches on paper. Research provides the foundation for designing and sculpting wildlife. Clay models provide practice and reference for uncovering the hidden treasures in blocks of wood or sculpting wax. Wooden sculpture is carved from Native North American Forest woods. After many tedious hours of finely detailing surface of the wildlife sculpture, it’s enhanced with specialized wood burning tools and then many more hours of layering light washes of acrylic paint.
